The Peninsula also features Victoria’s International Airport -Vancouver Islands largest international airport. Situated in the heart of the Saanich Peninsula, about 20 minutes from downtown Victoria, YYJ is one of the most beautiful and well-run airports in the world. As Canada’s 9th busiest airport, YYJ manages flow of about 1.5 million passengers per year on an average of 120 daily flights.
The Town of Sidney, on the Saanich Peninsula, is the only Canadian port-of-call in the Washington State Ferry system, with ferries running from Sidney to the San Juan Islands and Anacortes. Just 6 kilometres away is the Swartz Bay ferry terminal, Vancouver Island’s largest and busiest terminal, operated by BC Ferries - which has the largest fleet of vehicle ferries in the world.

The region features everything from leisure boating, Charter flights, marine sales and servicing to Aviation manufacturing. The Chamber commits to serving this sector though: advocacy, hosting learning events, connecting industry leaders to each other and to customers, offering cost-savings programs, and hosting an industry roundtable to learn about the specific needs and challenges of the Aviation and Marine industries.
