Right now, as a business community we have a unique opportunity to promote our businesses and support Star Cinema to purchase much-needed digital projectors and replace aging seats.
What is the problem? In 2013, all major movie studios are converting to digital production only. As a result, cinemas across North America, including the small independent ones like the Star, MUST purchase digital projectors. These cost $80,000 each.
Why should you act? The Star attracts thousands of people to Sidney and the Peninsula every month. During last month, for example, more than 5000 people came to see the “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.” Many of these theatergoers also had dinner in Sidney, strolled and shopped around town, or had a coffee before or after the film. The Star provides outstanding and reasonably priced entertainment for families, young people, customers, suppliers, employees and of course, for us! The Star is a family-friendly, affordable social and cultural hub we cannot afford to lose.
How can you help? As part of its “Save the Star Campaign”, the Star is offering businesses great opportunities to promote and advertise their businesses. I’ve summarized the options below.
