The Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is holding its 2012 Annual General Meeting on March 27, 2012 at the Brentwood Bay Resort & Spa from 5 to 7 pm. The SPCOC Board of Directors is charged with representing the members of the SPCOC and the Saanich Peninsula business community. Our board members regularly meet with business leaders and decision makers at local, provincial, national and international levels.

More about the event’s keynote speaker, Mr. Dave Cowen:
We are delighted that Mr. Cowen will be the keynote speaker at our Annual General Meeting. Tourism is a major economic driver on the Peninsula and no one is more involved in the tourism industry or more able to speak on the value it brings to the Peninsula than Dave.
He currently holds the position of General Manager of Butchart Gardens and is responsible for overseeing daily operations and strategic initiatives. Proud to be associated with this National Historic Site that receives nearly one million annual visitors and is operated by a team of 550 staff.
Dave is a board member of Tourism Victoria, the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and President of the BC Garden Tourism Coalition. A member of the tourism community for nearly 25 years, David is active in SKAL, was a board member for the Vancouver Island Flower & Garden Show, the Victoria Esquimalt Harbour Society, BC Council of Tourism Association. Dave has over fifteen years experience as a public speaking trainer assisting various community organizations, including the Victoria Quality Council and the University of Victoria’s Diploma in Business Program.
