Began as Sidney Board of Trade
The Chamber began as the Sidney Board of Trade, creating an organized voice for local businesses and laying the foundation for more than a century of advocacy.

Serving the Saanich Peninsula business community since 1912.
Since 1912, the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has been the leading voice for business on the Peninsula. We represent over 250 members from Sidney, North Saanich, and Central Saanich.
Founded in 1912, the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has been integral to the development of the region. From the early days of agriculture and small trade to today's diverse economy of technology, tourism, manufacturing, and retail, the Chamber has been there to support businesses every step of the way.
We are one of the oldest Chambers in British Columbia, with a proud legacy of advocacy and community building.
The Chamber began as the Sidney Board of Trade, creating an organized voice for local businesses and laying the foundation for more than a century of advocacy.

The Chamber wrote to the Canadian Air Board suggesting Sidney would be a suitable location for the establishment of a permanent aerodrome, showing an early commitment to regional opportunity and infrastructure.

The organization expanded its region by registering under the Boards of Trade Act as the Sidney & North Saanich Chamber of Commerce, reflecting a broader service area and business community.

Keeping up with commercial growth, the Chamber expanded to represent Central Saanich and became what is now known as the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

Today, the Chamber continues to support local businesses through advocacy, connection, and community leadership across the Peninsula.
